Hi Tony:

Good suggestion, however...

I have a feeling that Jason may have been soldering to xtals which had been 
installed during the initial build, rather than to new xtals being installed.

However, I strongly agree with your method of installation when you're 
installing NEW xtals. ATTACH THE GROUNDING WIRES BEFORE YOU INSTALL THE 
XTALS! MAKE THE WIRE LENGTHS SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT IN ORDER TO FACILITATE 
SEQUENTIAL INSERTION OF THE WIRES WHILE INSERTING THE XTAL INTO THE PC BOARD.
