Hi, Fran,

If you have a 50-ohm dummy load and a wattmeter, place the dummy load at
the end of the coax you want to measure.  Then:

1) Place the wattmeter between the transmitter and the coax and read the
power.

2) Without changing the transmitter's power output, place the wattmeter
at the other end of the coax at the dummy load and read the power.

The difference in the two power readings is the amount of power you're
losing in the coax.  The loss will be different on different bands,
becoming greater as the frequency goes up.
