[Elecraft] ksb2 alc query

Greetings.
Fitted the new xtals and capacitors into the KSB2 and now using the mh3 mic.
I am getting good audio reports.

I am getting some odd alc behaviour. The alc is pulling the average tx power
way back. I am looking at this on my MFJ Versa tuner swr bridge/power meter.
Using the IC706mkii with the power (carrier) set to 10 watts and usual  mic
and compression settings, I get a far higher average power than I am getting
for the equivalent 10 watts on the k2 with 4:1 compression. I measured about
3 volts on the base of Q1. I have altered the alc values back to the
original values (2.2uf  instead of 47uf as per the latest mod) which
improved the ssb performance. I'm not bothered about the digi modes. The
interesting thing is that on 15M only, I get about 4 volts on the base of Q1
which drives the average output of the K2 much higher and compares
favourably with the 706. Any ideas why?
