For a stronger signal, look at 4.000 MHz. There is a strong
birdie in the K2 that works well for initial peaking. Once
things are peaked on it, you can go to the weaker birdie at
7.000 MHz and finish fine peaking with it. You will probably
need to turn on the preamp with the 7 MHz birdie, but that's ok.

Subject: [Elecraft] Signal generator for K2 alignment & test?
I've gotten to Alignment and Test Part II at the end, but I cannot find a
signal off a long wire antenna. Also, I get such a weak signal at 7000 kc
that it's not much use. I suspect I need a signal generator to go signal
tracing, but have no idea where to look for such a machine. Can I use an
antenna analyzer like the MFJ 259 as an rf source or do I need a different
piece of equipment? Any tips as to where to go shopping would be
appreciated.
