I've used my K1/4 from hotel rooms with 30 to 50 foot of wire hanging from a
fishing pole out of a second floor window (I daren't ask what the other
guests think of it..), counterpoise was a couple of radials, one for 20m the
other for 40m (16 foot and 32 foot). Results were good with no TVI or phone
interference.
I wouldn't bother with an "rf earth", just a few radials, preferably at
least one for each band.
Will you be on the bands this weekend? I'm going /P with both my K1 and K2,
hope to keep away from the field day contest by using 10 MHz as much as
possible.
