Heh.  As the brits would say, "Not 'arf!"

On my drive back from Dayton to Los Angeles, I stopped in Idaho to meet up
with a socal transplant friend of mine who also happens to be an amp man. 
I showed him the k2 and the kpa100.  he was duly impressed with the
design.  said those trannies aughta be pretty much loafing at the amp's
rating.  his comment on that particular capacitor is that he was surprized
it wasn't soldered directly to the transformer.  i didn't press for a
reason.

During Field Test, this capacitor value was changed and checked under
various conditions.

But, I think the REAL reason is that now Elecraft can claim to have surface
mount parts :-)
