For CW contesting (is there another kind? 8*> ) I actually don't like
the "brick-wall" DSP filters. With "gentler" skirts, I find that I can
still hear off-frequency callers enough to know that I need to tune them
in with the RIT. With my old MP's brick-wall filters, I couldn't hear
them and would miss some QSOs. I ended up using only the MPs crystal
filters for all but a few situations, not enough for me to feel that DSP
is necessary vis a vis the K2's excellent filter response.

"I still preferred my FT-1000MP over the K2 because it had steeper
skirts on the narrow CW filters and hopefully the KDSP2 will change
compensate for this."
