[Elecraft] hypothetical end fed wire qestion

Say you have an end wire antenna up roughly 45feet your using with the =
k2 and the autotuner.  Will the antenna work just as well if you have =
the k2 on the high up part versus on the ground?  Reason Im asking I =
used such an antenna today on a pavilion 3 stories high at a local =
beach.(got the sunburn and mosquito bites to prove it)Mosquito is the =
Texas State Bird by the way.  Back to my scenario,  I was up 3 decks(apx =
45ft) the very top with the wire goin up a lil further over a support =
beam made of wood and goin down at an angle across the 2nd deck and then =
finally over that to the ground it sopped just short of the ground.  I =
had a ground counter poise goin straight down till it layed on the =
ground also.  Would it of made any significant difference had I been on =
the ground with the k2 and have the antenna terminate where I was on =
top?  Every thing Ive heard is your on the ground and the wire is in a =
tree or over a pole. =20

PS
I did work Sable Island CY9A off Eastern Canada from Sea Rim State Park =
on the beach south of Pt. Arthur TX with 5watts SSB from the above =
described setup.  Did I mention that was through a significant pileup.  =
One more thing I was using my newley purchased and assembled KBT2 all =
day I was out their.
