[Elecraft] Re: KPA100 "New Shield" and still getting RF! SOLVED

Thanks to all that responded to my problem concerning RF feedback on
40m.with the KPA100 turned on and the KAT100 in-line.

  Here is what solved it; Even though RFC10 was installed as best as I
understood the errata sheet, there was still about a forth of it
visible through the slot in the shield around the SO-239. Per Tom's,
N0SS, suggestion I built an RF block to cover the slot to provide
additional shielding to prevent interaction with the 40 meter bandpass
filter on the RF board. Problem solved.

    Although my block is not as professional as Tom's suggested one,
the material came from the kitchen. It consists of a piece of aluminum
foil folded several times to about the width of the slot and held in
place with electrical tape. I will make a more permanent fix later.

    Even though this has been frustrating, it still gives me great
pleasure that I was able to fix the problem myself with the helpful
suggestions from Wayne, Tom and others on the reflector, and I am
still elated to be able to enjoy the Elecraft  experience.
