Tim,
There's an old addage that is still true today:
"A dollar in the antenna is worth $10 in the transmitter."
That addage applies regardless of the sunspot cycle or transmitter power
output!
Whether or not your transmitter (QRP or QRO) can ".... reach anywhere in the
world..." depends on the sunspot cycle and antenna type(s). I'd suggest you
break out your copy of the ARRL Antenna Book and start doing some scheming
(read: plotting) to optimize your antenna system for your particular
geographic location and space available.
