Yes, we got the local club station onto 60m with good results.   Tx to Ga.
on first contact about 8 PM one Mon.

The reason for not calling CQ, is that with so few channels; you can easily
set them all in memories and scan them, listening for activity. Others will
be doing the same, and can find you quickly if you/ they say anything.  If
no one is found that way, pick a channel and announce your call sign, much
as we do on channelized 2 m repeaters.  Usually someone comes right back, if
they are there.

I am sure a modest 1X1 CQ format would not get anyone's ire.   Announcing,
"Is the frequency in use?" may generate a response without getting to the CQ
stage.   And checking the occupancy is always a good idea on any band/
frequency.
