Yes, the NR functions are too aggressive, making NR2 thru NR4 not too
useful.  If the filter "taps" could be reduced so that NR1 thru NR4 act
like "NR0" thru NR3, it would be much more versatile.  To accomplish this
would require changes in the firmware (which I hope will happen).

I've played around quite a bit with the beta and decay adjustments.  With
the beta at 87 (the default) and decay at 30 (default is 71), it sounds
better to me because it has the effect of appearing to slightly reduce
the NR's aggressiveness on both CW and SSB.
