"K2" is a mountain in the Himalayas.  It is the second-highest mountain in the 
world and is located in Pakistan.  It's real name is Qogir, and it is 8,611
meters in elevation.  Mt. Everest, another Himalayan peak, (located in 
Nepal and China,) is the tallest mountain in the world, at 8,850 meters
in elevation.
