[Elecraft] KDSP2 2x10 20 pin header

Having built one KDSP2, the second build was quite easy. I installed the
KDSP2 board in K2 #2, replacing the existing KAF2 board. All went well
until I tried to plug the KDSP module into the board. It just wouldn't
install in place. I was hard to see what the hang up was (most of the
mating of the DSP module to the board is by feel rather than sight). I
removed the KDSP2 board to see if headers were perpendicular to the board,
I was sure they were. They were. Next step was to mate the module to the
board out side of the K2. No joy. I used a left over male plug I had and
tried to insert it into the 20 pin header. One complete row was fine, the
other was not. I couldn't insert a pin into any of the holes on one
complete row of the header. Most likely a defect in manufacture. I
contacted Elecraft for a replacement. Lesson learned, try plugging in
module into the headers before you install the headers to the board. It was
probably a one time defect, but you could save yourself a lot of grief by
doing so. Now to remove the bad header, I guess just try to break it up and
remove the pins?

The KDSP2 in K2 #1 works great!
