Since my wife (KB4FFO) and I are full time RVers, we deal with flooded lead
acid batteries all the time. I have two to start the engine in my motorhome,
but they are the sealed type. I also have six, 6 volt T105 golf cart
batteries for the house supply. I feed a 2k inverter with these batteries.
They are 4 years old and doing just fine. I check them every month for
voltage and specific gravity. I float charge them when plugged into power
at a campground and NEVER discharge them below 11.8 volts unless it is an
accident. FLA should never be discharged below 50% and we try to keep ours
above that. You can get several thousand cycles out of a FLA battery that
you maintain well.

I still have the QRP KAT2 for the K2 for sale. It includes the cover and
speaker. I'll take $140 for it, built and working!
