SLA batteries are meant to be used as "emergency" power sources =
(emergency
"EXIT" lights and lighting, power supply for security alarms, etc.) They
have about 1/2 the number of discharge cycles of other batteries, but, =
since
they are only used in emergencies this is OK.  Normally they sit there
forever on a float and are used for about 1/4 th of what they are rated =
for
when needed. They are not equivalent to "car" batteries, NiCad's, etc.
