[Elecraft] BFO Mod using Toroidal L33 and R116

Dear Guys and Gals,
 
I am going to attempt to do the BFO Stability mod and I have a question about R116 and L33 (toroid 41uh).  Should R116's leads be insulated from L33?  It looks like the R116 sits down over L33 with the leads touching the coil.  There is no instructions to insulate the leads from the coil...or am I missing something here?
