[Elecraft] Want details of K2 lockups on field day

This is somewhat embarrassing to admit, but since there was a question
about lock ups & reliability under warm & intense situations where one
wants the rig to keep working, I figured I'd share the experience.
Some time back I must have accidently shoved the 1/4-to-1/8 adaptor
& 1/4-inch phone jack combination into the cooling fan instead of the
speaker jack. I heard a bit of a grind, but I thought I merely nicked it,
so didn't bother looking more closely - though was totally oblivious to
the fact that the fan was no longer spinning.
I managed to make a few hundred contacts in the recent DL-DX RTTY
contest - mostly running (where I CQ, often over & over & over). To get
our legal limit from my amp (important given I have nothing but dipoles
& verticals for antennas now), I generally have to have the K2/100
providing around 50~55 watts drive on some bands.
Ambient temperature in shack, thanks to recent stretch of lovely weather,
peaked somewhere above 38C.
A few days later I pulled the broken fan blades out so that it would spin &
although it's clearly well out of balance, the rig just did the IARU Radiosport
without any hiccups, chalking up another thousand contacts or so again
with shack temperatures nearing 40C.
All external fans I could find were on the operator & not the rig & this op
generally goes without environmental engineering (read: air-condx) despite
being a native W7 living close to the tropics. I would expect K2s to keep
going after the ops wilt in similarly extreme public service operations.
