Have you checked the pin length on the RF to front panel connector? There 
was a batch of connectors (for both K2 and K1 kits) whose pins were too 
long and required cutting before the front panel board mated with the RF 
board fully. This kind of problem could contribute to what you're seeing. 
Take a peek (from the the bottom) at that connection to see if those 2 
connectors mate closely with little or no visible space between them. I 
found in my new K2 that I had to cut close to a quarter inch of the 20 pins 
before the connectors were flush. I didn't notice this at first then saw a 
note on the reflector about it.
