[Elecraft] Want details of K2 lockups on field day

The K2 is a serious candidate for emergency field ops during the Western
Forest Fire Season.

However, It has been reported that the K2 has "locked up" during field day
ops while in intense heat and intense use.

Apparently this has not occurred with the more commonly used "mil spec" SGC
2020 (despite its excessive Xmit current drain and receiver deficiencies).

I would like to learn more about this lockup problem from K2 users who have
experienced it:

What kind of "lockup" was this? Did the microprocessor refuse to work, and
therefore, decapitate the radio in its entirity?

How long did it last?

What caused it?

Was there a way to prevent it?

Is there a way to cure it?

Additional details and annecdotal reports appreciated.
