Hi Ira
I also picked up one of those 300Mhz scopes and have been playing with it
for days now=2E Not having much experience with a scope and also not being=
entirely familiar with all the functions of all the controls, I invested i=
n
the following:
"Oscilloscope Technical Training Manual" and "Video Tape" from SySpec=20
315-699-5132 and www=2Esyspec=2Ecom
I think there are 1 or 2 addtional advanced scope-manual/videos in the
series=2E The 1st one is very basic, but was good for a beginner like myse=
lf=2E
I also own a 5mhz function generator which made it easy to practice taking=
measurements, etc=2E=20
I would, however, really like to see a manual or video (preferable) that
explores the practcal use of a scope (signal generator, noise generator,
signal tracer, etc) in troubleshooting, monitoring, and aligning radio
circuits=2E I think there are probably thousands of non-technical types li=
ke
myself who love to build kits but lack the practical knowlege of exactly
how to use all their test equipment to troubleshoot radios on their own=2E=
I
would surely pay some serious $$ for a video series on troubleshooting
radios from the early TRF & Regen radios to the modern communication
xcvr's=2E Maybe there is such a series that already exists?
If there is no such series, maybe I'll just have to apprentice myself to
Gary and his repair shop for a month until I just start to "get it"! :-)=20=

p=2Es=2E - The manual is definitely a case of 95% passable translation and=
5%
missing/mis-use of words=2E I was able to overcome in most instances=2E ym=
mv=2E
I'm still very pleased=2E=20
Hi Folks:
I, like Lyle Johnson, saw that advertisement and opted to "invest 1/2 of=20=
my inheritance" in a device that I have never had but always felt a=20
needed to make my "test bench" complete=2E
