[Elecraft] Help: Problems with Optical Encoder

Sounds to me like the encoder is no longer connected correctly. Either a
wire broke or a solder joint went bad.
Check the schematic for where each of the wires are supposed to go and check
continuity there. Keep in mind that you want to check continuity to the pin
not to any solder. Also try this check while the encoder dangles a bit in
case the movement with make and break the connection on one of the wires.
