[Elecraft] missing sidetone

You know, the sad thing about this is that you can look at the parts
over and over and never see what is there to be seen.  It's the forest
for the trees concept.  I've found that sometimes it helps to just quit
working on it for a week or so and then come back with fresh concepts
including the attitude that all connections are wrong until shown to be
correct.
Then again, if all else fails, a few mighty oaths sometime help!
I'm glad you did find the tree in the forest so to speak. (G)

After a couple of frustrating weeks checking voltage and parts from my A
to
B mod and KPA100 install, today I discovered that I did exactly what the
KPA100 manual says not to do. I had soldered the jumper from Q5 to the
resistor pack and not to the IC.  DUH!  It works just fine now.  I also
installed my NB today.  Maybe Murphy (or poor eyesight) will abandon me
for
a while and I will be able to work CW again!
