Rich - If travel size is not a consideration, I would get the K2. I sold
my TS 850 when I built my K2 and it is now my main rig. I operate 100% CW
and when conditions get really bad, I can crank the K2 all the way up to 13
watts. Sometimes, it makes a difference. I also have a K1 and mostly use it
portable. I think the K1 would do nicely for a home rig, if the K2 wasnt so
handy. The K2 costs about 40% more and takes about twice as long to build
but thats only a 3db increase. 73 Rick K7MW
