Hi, Brian... I saw your first post and was busy... so I didn't follow =
up. My
apologies! Usually when I answer something a dozen others do too.=20
As I recall you said that your rig worked fine on CW BEFORE installing =
the
SSB module. If so, your problem is most certainly in the switching
arrangement that bypasses the SSB module in CW mode. Look at your SSB
Adapter schematic. You will see at the top some Diodes - D10, D11, D12, =
D13
and D6, D7, D8 and D9. They form a "switch" that, according to which =
ones
are conducting, routes the RF thorough the SSB adapter in SSB mode or =
around
it. Since you just built the adapter, look closely at the orientation of =
all
of those diodes. The "wrong" one in the "wrong" way might be the =
culprit, as
would a bad diode or even a mixup in the surrounding resistors.=20

Hi all: I received no responses, so I am trying again. I have mated K2 =
S/N
2528 to the KSB2. I had several successful SSB QSOs today, and received
excellent audio reports, as long as I didn't use too much processor. I =
was
measuring output power of about 10-12 watts on voice peaks, on both 75m =
and
40m. Receiver showed greater sensitivity than my IC-756PRO II in
side-by-side tests --- quite remarkably so!
Now the bad news. On CW, I can't get more than about 1-1.5 watts =
output, a
little more on the low bands, and progressively less as I go higher =
towards
10M.=20
I then removed the KSB2, replaced jumpers W2 and W3, replaced C167, and
tried CW. I get full power, 10W + measured output on all bands, again a
little more on 80/160 and a little less on 12/10. =20
Any thoughts on what in the KSB2 could be causing the low power problem =
on
CW while not causing a problem on SSB would be GRATEFULLY welcomed. =20
