[Elecraft] K1 Field Day Bragging Rights

OK,

I went camping in the North Georgia Mountains for Field Day with my K1 & th=
e XYL.  Made about 50 contacts between 2-6 PM.  What a wonderful rig.

Set-up was K1 and longwire about 50 feet long.  Had counterpoise on the gro=
und.  The K1 is 4 band version with internal tuner.  Tuner tuned all bands =
with no problem.  I even worked W1AW!!!!

Now the bragging....

This was the first rig that I built and I didn't have to take it to another=
 ham's shack and get help.  I am a new builder and it really is true, this =
is a rig you can build by yourself!

Seeing all the e-mails about questions or problems made me fearful of tryin=
g to build.  Not to worry, there are many questions on the list, but better=
 yet, many questions answered in the directions before you have even formed=
 the question.  Now to try a K2!
