[Elecraft] K2/100 & AGC pumping - solved - more remarks

When I work on the K2 and put the KPA100 in place as the top, I always take a few minutes and take the right side off...check the dressing of the cables. I think that could be a real source of failure if a person is not carefull. I wish I had put some heat shrink material over the coax leads when I build the unit. Tinning them helped a little...reduces the flexibility...but I have had the coax shield touching the case. I know that is not a big deal, but I do believe it is prudent to check theses connections.

Took off the right panel and found the ribbon cable between the Control
board and amplifier folded nicely on top of the SSB option board.
Repositioned the cable and the noise disappeared. FYI... the noise coincided
with the Tx data going to the computer which travels through that ribbon
cable.

Sure is nice to have the K2 in top form again.

Thanks to all for the hints!

cheers..
