A few major events?  Last weekend was the HA contest, and it was hard to find a
clear spot on 20/15 meters when the band was open to Europe!  Not that HA is a
minor country, it is apparently a great power in the realm of radio contesting. 
I worked a bunch of them although I don't plan to try for an award, but it was
very nice to have a quiet 18 MHz band available.  I think we should be careful
to keep contests out of these bands, even small contests, so as not to let the
camel's nose under the tent.
