[Elecraft] Considering K1 - Have Questions

Hi

Sockets are a bad idea in RF circuits. The K1 comes with the required socket
for the MPU controller (the large IC on the front panel board). The IO
controller on the RF board also comes with a socket. This allows for future
upgrades to the firmware. All of the other IC's must be installed without
sockets.
