Sure there is an advantage to using a manual tuner over an automatic.  Some
automatics can have trouble getting 1:1 with a "soft" peak to the resonance.

Manual tuners can get to 1:1 if you are patient and know the order of
adjustment for maximum efficiency for your tuner.  AND, they need NO power,
of if the power goes out, they still work if manual!

Of course, if power is out, will the rig work?  If K2 with built in battery,
YES.
