I have observed a problem since using MixW 2.06 version ZJ that has caused
me to revert to using version Q.
Upon starting MixW, occasionally the audio from the K2 goes very low. At
first I thought it had gone into transmit, but turning up the volume showed
that it was receiving, but weak. The only way to cure this problem if it
occurs to change to another band and then back again.
This problem doesn't always happen. What does happen most of the time is
that my macros for changing the RX filter bandwidths don't work.
Neither of these problems have ever occcurred using earlier versions of
MixW, and I have reverted to using version 2.06Q.
I have a macro OnStartMixW which starts with the following:
<CATCMD:K22;FR0;FT0;> . The CAT command K22 is necessary to enable the K2
firmware mode that recognises the commands to change filters. Therefore I
am diagnosing that MixW 2.06 ZJ is sending garbage to the K2 during this
start-up macro, possibly causing a buffer overflow that is upsetting the
K2 firmware, causing the occasional receiver weirdness and the failure to
respond to filter switch CAT commands.
It might be useful if other K2 users could verify this problem with version
ZJ, to prove that it isn't my K2 that is at fault, although I don't believe
it is since the problem only occurs with the new version of the software.
