[Elecraft] Random Wire???

Just remember the British context. They use 75 ohm coax, and thus the
tuners might be able to match something different from common tuners on this
side of the pond. Of course, the end fed wire is fed direct from the single
wire terminal of common Tee Match transmatch equipment.

I started out with a 30 foot wire, (10m) as a Novice on 40m, 80m and 15m,
and had difficulty feeding it from the usual Pi Net (good to 600 ohms or
more) of the time. I was in an RF poor ground area. Had the same bad luck
with a 400 foot wire 8 years later, with same Pi Net output. If one length
is a problem, and you still have problems even with a quarter wave
counterpoise, try altering the antenna length, making it longer until it
does match using your transmatch. Usually, this will be possible. Of
course, most forget the longer the single wire, the more directional off the
far end, and thus restricts your coverage to that direction.
