Thanks for the memories...and the URL...it's really fascinating.
Several years ago I contacted the State Port Authority about the land
station, WMH that they operated.  I was hoping to preserve the small
building they had, antenna systems and the rigs.  Some nice gubmint type
told me that everything had been taken to the dump...they though so little
of it they didn't even offer it for public sale.

Hopefully I can convince folks who were commercial ops on ships and/or
shore stations to jot down their memories...I'd love to do with that what
I have up at www.zerobeat.net/submarine/
