Somehow I doubt that the Japanese response will be interesting to me, a CW
operator.  Despite the fact that there are some great Japanese CW operators, CW
has always been an afterthought on Japanese radios.  Just listen to the QSK on a
noisy band on even a top-of-the-line rig and compare it to the K2.  And an
inexpensve rig like the IC706...

The Orion's price will put it out of the range of many of us.  But even if I had
'infinite money' (as Bill Gates once put it), I'm drawn more to the simplicity
of the K2.  Maybe I'm nostalgic for the old days when we built most of our
equipment and there weren't so many knobs and buttons.
