[Elecraft] Internal Battery Charging Question

  I have a question regarding my K2's internal battery, the KBT2 option.

You should adjust the PS to read 13.7 as read by the K2 internal =
voltmeter
(Tap the "Display" button). A high voltage will dry out the battery at =

and cause shortened life.

I also have an old RS power supply and it has a simple regulator.  Which
uses a Zener diode for the reference.  I adjusted mine by replacing the
Zener with one with a lower voltage.  In fact I had to use two in series =
to
get the right voltage.  Has been in use for more than a y=3Dear and is =
working
great.

Since there is no schematic (or they are hard to find, some are on the =
RS
support page) you can find the Zener by measuring the voltage across =
those
components on the PC board that look like a diode.  One should have a
voltage around 14 volts. That is the one you want to replace.
