[Elecraft] confused with all mods k2

John

Like yourself, I don't want to deviate too far from the "Elecraft standard
K2". However, there are some mods that are well worth the effort. In no
particular order these are:

Changing the capacitors in the higher band filters - reduces the image
interference from the 15 MHz broadcast band when listening on 24.9 MHz, less
of an issue at the moment as we move away from sunspot max.

The "scratchy volume control" modification, makes a huge difference if yours
sounds scratchy. Only necessary if your volume control becomes irritating.

The "2nd filter mod" makes the SSB receive signal sound significantly
better.

All these mods are covered in the "A to B" kit. Most take a matter of
minutes to do, although the volume control modification takes around an
hour. There are pictures of the "before and after" results of the 2nd filter
mod on my web pages at http://www.astromag.co.uk/k2/
