Generally it is not advisable to put a rig on a power supply (switching 
or otherwise).  Electric and magnetic fields can both be a problem.

In fact, I seem to recall some specific advice re transformers, antenna 
rotor controls, etc.  in some Electraft context -- maybe the KPA100.
