[Elecraft] K2 IF use at 24.1MHz for W1GHZ XVTR

What range are you looking for?
My K2 "seems" to put out rf (or more correctly - Draw significant transmit
current) wherever I set the dial. Probably way off efficiency outside the
band pass filters, tho.
I'll be happy to go key down at the lowest and highest freqs you need and
put the 'scope on the dummy load and let you know the power in, out and if
the freq is believable. I don't have a freq counter, but if the rf gets
skinnier, it's faster<g>.

Except the QST article mentions that the transverter requires a wider IF
range than the 12 meter band. So unless the K2 will transmit beyond the
band, I think there will be the same range limitations as would be the
case with most other HF transceivers which have not been modified for
out of band ops. The 222 band is simply too broad to be tuned by an
unmodified HF rig being used as the IF.

Hi Gang,
As I await my new K2 I am wondering. Will it transmit at 24.1MHz? I
just
built the W1GHZ 222MHz transverter from QST ( info at www.w1ghz.org )
Thanks and 73,
Mark K2QO
