While it can be done, and done safely, there is a very good reason
Elecraft recommends NOT removing the excess flux.
It doesn't do any damage over time.
It doesn't effect the performance of the radio.
Removing it exposes the radio to damage by:
-- mechanical damage from scrubbing at the pads and traces
-- chemical damage from using any sort of chemical on the board to help.
A lot of ops decide to do it anyway for purely "aesthetic" reasons. It's
your choice.

while using Isopropyl or Rubbing Alcohol
=Then rinse board in warm water, don't soak it. Then lay board down to
air dry or dry them quicker by holding them in your hand, then swing it
back and forth.
