I have only 35 feet of antenna here! Still, with only a 
few hours of contesting I netted six new countries, including
Hawaii. Very happy with that...I had heard him the previous
day and he was not hearing me at all. Luck changed on Sunday.
(I'm on the East Coast of the US. Also, I was using the K2
at 5W.)

I had just built and installed the KAT2 on Friday-Saturday. It
works well. I am handicapped without it!

Even with a sidetone/transmit offset of 600 Hz, I found that
the center of the strong stations' carriers were activating
the AGC. It was not a real problem, because I could still copy
the weaker stations underneath. In that respect, the K1 audio AGC
may actually win. (Wonder if there could be an alternate path
switchable audio-agc mod for the K2? hi)
