Thanks for that info, Dave. Very handy to have.  I imagine there are
variations in sensitivity depending on construction technique and
filter width/alignment, and also it may change depending on what the 
sidetone offset is. 

This weekend I may do a more careful Spectrogram alignment. I noticed
that switching in a narrower filter did in some cases produce a slightly
higher S meter indication.

Yes -- a shame they didn't say which.

That's the other half of the equation -- comparing perceived rx
level between the K1 here, with the KAT1 inside, and the stock K2,
is unfair. The K2 sees a mismatch.... at least until the KAT2 arrives. ;-)
I am sure I'll see an improvement afterwards in real band performance.
