The K2 is not a stereo rig (grin). The jack at the front panel is a stereo 
jack but the signal is a mono signal. Both signals are connected with 
resistors to the same AF amplifier.

If you plug in a cable in the jack at the rear panel than the internal 
speaker will be quiet. You can use these jack for your an external speaker. 
If you now plug in a headphone in the front panal jack than the external 
speaker will be quiet. You don't need a aditional "tap off".
