[Elecraft] What is Amateur Radio?

Hi,

Let's say I was stopped by a security officer at the airport, who
wondered about my radio and wires.  How would I explain in a short
summary the relationship between my radio and wires and the hobby Amateur
Radio?  Without loosing their focus?
