Mine was built with 80 KHz and 15m options. The antenna tuner is quite
limited in it's tuning range, similar to the ATU in many ready built
transceivers, but works fine with many "field" antennas. It's worth checking
your portable antenna at home to make sure that at least it tuned before you
left home! Antennas are quite varied, doublets with 300 Ohm ribbon (plus
small home made balun), dipoles and ground planes. I tend to use fibreglass
fishing poles while portable, both a DK9SQ "mast" and a Shakespeare 20 foot
"Spearlite" fishing pole. The DK9SQ with a 30m ground plane is pretty good.
I have the K1-4, 80/40 board, KAT1, wide range tilt stand, Palm Mini-paddles
and external 10 cell 1800 mAh NiMh battery pack.
