[Elecraft] Ah, progress

I'm happy to say I finished the control board on K2 #3209. I really
don't believe the 3 inch circuit board crack emanating from the vicinity
of the voltage regulators should be a problem. It was easily stabilized
with duct tape. And I thought ahead by cutting a hole in the tape so I
can reach the trimmer capacitor for adjustment later on. A side benefit
is that with the increased flexibility the board now has I should have
no trouble achieving proper plug-jack contact in the event the pins on
the control board do not mate with their respective plugs. All the
same, I do suppose torking the hardware on the regulators with an
electric screwdriver may not have been all that good an idea. I wanted
to be sure they won't escape the board in the future. They won't now!
I also believe that U6 will have no problems resulting from the pin I
cut off to facilitate fitting it into the socket. I figured that 39 out
of 40 pins should be enough if the design is sufficiently robust.
Seriously, there are no cracks, no duct tape, no missing pins and no
problems (I am aware of now). The board passed the resistance checks.
Now I'm off to see what adventure lies ahead with the front panel. This
is fun.
