I thought OP was 'Old Person" the politically correct version of OM.
I'm just curious, why "female Hams and Engineers?" or is that only female
engineers?

Subject: RE: [Elecraft] respect of persons
Since in the past I have I called any male Ham an "OM", I've no doubt
been guilty of calling some fairly young men an "OM", but that's the Ham
tradition. The "O" has no age connotation as far as I know. As a Ham of
12 or 13 years of age, I enjoyed being called an OM.
In recent years I've started using OP for "Operator" out of respect for
the many female Hams and Engineers I encounter.

I will refrain from calling myself and others an "OLD FART". Because it
is disrespectable to you, myself, and others. OM will suit me fine.
