Page 33, right column, last paragraph in the KAT100 manual has been changed
in Errata Sheet Dec 4, 2002 (rev. A-3). The essence of the paragraph says if
the power level seems to jump continuously and never settle down, it is
probably due to RF getting into the KAT100 control cable. It says to try
desoldering the VRFDET line at the K2 end of this cable and then try
soldering a .01 uF capacitor across the VRFDET line at the K2 end (inside the
KAT100-1 control cable's backshell between the bare wire at pin 1 and the
white wire at pin 7. Why put the .01 uF capacitor across these pins at the
K2 end if the VRFDET line is disconnected? This seems to say to me that the
.01 uF capacitor should be soldered between pin 1 and pin 7 in the backshell
at the K2 end WITHOUT desoldering the VRFDET line unless this is a step to
get the KIO2 inside the KPA100 or K2 with KIO2 to settle down. I don't want
to have to modify the control cable if I put the KPA100 and KAT100 in the EC2
enclosure. I would like to use it in both configurations without having to
change it. Have I missed something?
