What a pleasure to have gotten this far and now making contacts this =
morning. 3147 went together without too much trouble other than me =
getting ahead of myself at times. Bought all the accessories, SSB, Real =
time clock, 160M, 100W, IO board, Noise Blanker and a real nice KAT100 =
to set the K2 on top of.=20

As a comparison, my daily driver is an ICOM 775. Other than some very =
fancy bells and whistles the 775 possesses, the K2 cooks right along =
side the 775. Receiver is a WOW! TX reports have been encouraging.=20

Tuning up the K2 was a chore but there hasn't been too many radios I've =
done that were not. If you do it every day then no sweat. I started a =
ways back with my first build-it kit and that was a Heathkit AR-3 four =
band tube receiver. I messed that up royally but a good "elmer" ham =
rescued me and put me on the right track, back when I was about 13 years =
old got it working and it sits here on a shelf in an honored position in =
my ham shack.

I want to thank Elecraft and this great group for their interest and =
support on this list. I visit it daily looking for hints and clues. Its =
helped me get through a few tough spots.=20

I am taking my K2 to my local ARC at next weeks meeting and do a show =
and tell. Maybe get some interest for the beginner ops out there.=20
