Hello all.
I thought I would share my way of adjusting the 4Mhz osc. in K2 3829. =
Since I did not have a good freq.counter I decided to use my ic706 for =
this. The manual tells to use USB on 4,000Mhz and adjust the trimmer to =
zero when no pitch is audible.
I made a pickup loop that I connected to my 706 and could still hear a =
lot of stations in my 706 rx.
I then put vfo A to 3999,80Khz USB and vfo B to 4000,20Khz LSB so I =
could toggle between vfo A/B. Adjusted the trimmer C22 so the pitch in =
tone sounded the same when toggling vfo's. Quite easy to do. Then I did =
a test with both radios on same frequency(7084,00) and transmitted first =
LSB and then USB and my K2 was right on with no difference in voicepitch =
from my normal voice. To me this sounds good enough. What do you think. =
If this is a method that can be used by others it would be nice and if =
they should not use this method I would be glad to hear why. All in all. =
So far I'm having a lot of fun. My K2 has done as the manual says it =
should do and al messurments is within specs. Now in RF assembly stage =
3. I'll be on air in just a short while. Merry Xmas everyone.
LA1PHA Tom.
