While the spacing isn't critical, the physical length of the folded =
section
is NOT =3D 468/F in MHz for lowest SWR in most installations.

Assuming you are planning on a two-wire folded dipole, the length of the
folded section out to the shorted ends is k X 458/f where "K" is the
velocity factor of the two-wire line. Wires are added to the ends to =
make up
the rest of the length as needed to reach the full length (468/f).=20

For example, an 80 meter dipole would be 130' 0" overall. The "folded"
section would be 113' 1" if made from 450-ohm "windowline" and 104' 1" =
if
made from 300-ohm twinlead.=20

On 40 the overall length would be 66' 10" with the folded section 58' 2" =
if
made from 450-ohm window line and 53' 5" if made from 300 ohm twinlead.
